My name is Lee McCallum

I'm a compassionate yet candid therapist who believes life's struggles foster growth and can help you build resilience without sugarcoating reality.  I don't believe in forced positivity, instead, I focus on the transformative power of trials and challenges.

About Me.

My therapeutic approach is influenced by the idea that, facing what scares us often leads to profound growth. As Albert Camus said, "In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me lay an invincible summer." This encapsulates my belief that we all possess an inherent resilience, often only realised at the most challenging of times.

I advocate for authenticity. It's better to be hurt by the truth than to be comfortable with a lie, and it's vital to confront rather than evade. Change is inevitable, and resistance only amplifies the discomfort. I help clients navigate these changes and find peace in uncertainty.  Life's trials are what shape us, and it's through these experiences that we find our true strength.  This is the spirit I bring to therapy: facing life with courage and authenticity and embracing all it has to offer.

The most important aspect of our work together will be our therapeutic relationship. Together, we'll focus on action over intention, honesty over comfort, and growth over stagnation. Let's embark on this journey together and ensure that you live, not just exist.

I'm a versatile counsellor with extensive training and experience in various therapeutic modalities, including Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Existential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
